Sharing a creative life, one post at a time!

Monthly Archives: December 2008

…..that I managed to make in the last couple days…..the layout photo was a very impromptu shot of my littlest hamming it up in front of the tree…lol.  Love the lace diecut from Creative Imaginations and the title and large snowflake were cut using various fonts, SCAL and my Cricut. That great red paper is from Collage Press from thier Camden line.

This little gift card holder below is simply a tri-fold strip of dbl. sided patterned paper from K&Co’s Christmas slab called Peppermint Twist by Brenda Walton. I reinforced the spine fold as it was cracking a little due to the sparkle an embossing on the paper. That particular slab has lots of gorgeous retro images and colors…..I love it!!

……for Christmas that is?? I am… somewhat…lol…..just have to get a few groceries early next week and I am good to go! Looking for some easy peasy recipes this holiday season? Give this LINK a try….search the site for slow cooker ideas too and you will find a myriad of easy things to cook!

How’s your gift wrapping coming along? I decided to stay a step ahead of my little “peekers” this year…lol. I am putting most things in shoe boxes so short of outright opening the gift they will not be able to peek…hahaha!!
I’ve also noticed my ornaments are slowly going higher on the tree…..the dang cats keep pulling them off for a play and I keep putting them back higher….lol. The only one who has really tried to climb the tree is our 18pound moose kitty, affectionately called “MooMoo” ……the tree looked like we were having a 7.5 earthquake….lol. Surprisingly the Bengal kitten has not ripped it apart….YET!!

Looks like we will have a white christmas this year too…..we have about 6 inches out there now and doesn’t look like it will be warming up any time soon!! Not with -10 temps!!

And lastly here’s a few little freebies I’ve found that I think are above average…….enjoy!

edited to add these other projects below:

…just two to be exact…lol.

This first one uses Fiskars new scalloped oval squeeze punch and the star squeeze punch…the owl is my own printed image from my FunkaLicious album class….I use him alot…lol. I believe the woodgrain stamp is by All Night Media?, got it at M’s with a 50% off coupon!

This next card was sent to Fiskars to  wish them a very Merry Christmas and to thank them for all they do for the crafting community, it uses several Fiskars products ie: the frames template, scallop scissors and the scallop oval squeeze punch.

okay okay, I have been accused of being a redneck from time to time……but honey I was never this bad…..LOL!! (click thumbnail)

yup, that’s what I have to share today! oh, I’m coming down with a cold so you can have that too if ya want…..LOL! It’s FREE! 🙂

Anyways, here are some cards made using some of my SCAL images, I hand trimmed the blue mug to make it a little shorter, and the papers are by K&Co, from one of thier Christmas slabs:

……this butterfly card below uses a sentiment from the Happiness stamp set by Artistic Outpost:

and this snow man card was made because I needed to cut some foam for my daughter and decided to cut myself a few pieces too….lol.

this layout below was made using Basic Greys Urban Prairie papers, I think that’s my favorite line from thier latest release. the stamped button background under the title is also a stamp from the Mini Masterpiece set by  Artistic Outpost, they have some amazing stamps!!

….and last but not least, this gift below is for my daughters teacher! A tin of gourmet hot chocolate with matching gift bag….love making this type of  little gift!
